In June 2019, I embarked on a journey that would forever change my relationship with dogs. As a devoted pet owner, I understood the importance of meeting my dogs’ needs beyond the basics. Two of my beloved companions stood out:
Spirit with knee and hip issues, Spirit couldn’t engage in strenuous activities. Her limitations tugged at my heart, urging me to find a way to enrich her life.
Nero, my working line German Shepherd, didn’t quite fit the mold of traditional classes. His sensitivity to various environments made standard training challenging. But Nero needed a purpose—a job that would channel his energy and intelligence.
Driven by this quest for more, I delved into active Mantrailing with my dog's:
My loyal GSD partner, Nero, became my trailblazer. Together, we achieved the Mantrailing Global Level 1 & 2 assessments. However, as age caught up with him, we gracefully retired from the compitition of trails but he still gets out and has fun.
My spirited Springer Spaniels, River and Dusk, each took their own path. River successfully completed her Level 1 Assessment and continues to flurish in Scent Detection and while Dusk at just 7 months old is exploring a different Scent Detection direction.
Rescue dog Reef, the Sprocker I welcomed into my home, embarked on his own trailing & tracking journey. His fresh enthusiasm and eagerness keep's me motivated.
As I reflect on this adventure, I’m reminded that our dogs are more than pets—they’re our partners, our confidantes, and our inspiration. And so, the journey continues, fueled by passion, dedication, and the unwavering bond we share.
I am a certified Mantrailing instructor with Mantrailing Global (previously Mantrailing UK) since 2020.
As pat of my services i offer Mantrailing Introductions, progression sessions, and assessments throughout the Midlands, encompassing Central Birmingham, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, and Leicestershire.
My experience has been enhanced by working with respected figures in the field, such as Lisa Gorenflo, the founder of Mantrailing Global, and former head instructors Susanne Broughton, Kathryn Jones, Gerry Moss, Dawn Heaton, Rhiannon Bevan, and Kevin Motion.
My quest for knowledge has led me to participate in courses, workshops, and seminars with the British Mantrailing Academy, GAK9, and IMBTI (International Bloodhound Training Institute), alongside Wesley Visscher and Ilkka Hormila adding to my experience.
My enthusiasm for pet dog sports equips me to guide you through an exciting journey into Mantrailing, Tracking & Trailing, leveraging my direct experience in training my own dogs.
